his location between cell towers is what ended up locating him. In the city, those things are accurate to within a city block.
Sounds like you learned a lot too?

Wouldn't get his location from phone records.
Are you trying to tell me that they can't determine your location to some degree by which cell towers you were using?

Probably tighter than a block, but when live tracking. I'm just saying a phone can't be reverse tracked by looking at a phone record from a month ago.

If so the phone companies are up to some dirty shite...which wouldn't surprise me one bit knowing what our gov't does.

He may have been trying to rape her when he "popped up" and just worded it differently to sound better.

Cops can run rape kits to see if he succeed.

If she popped up while he was chilling in the truck or popped up while he was trying to rape her, she fricked him up good enough to cause severe injuries that needed medical attention.

Adam, is this true?

quote:

One of the guys caught a fish. Upon reeling it in, the line snagged the bike. Bike was submerged. They kept the bike because their dad or uncle is in the scrap metal business. When they got home, a female in the family immediately recognized the bike from the fliers and the media. They called the police

Lets put it this way, if I wanted to pull off the perfect murder, I know what to do now. One day I WILL write a book about all of this.

When calls are placed, the tower that they are carried on is also recorded.

not only calls, but anything your IMEI# bounces off of trying to get a signal. The only way to not be "recorded" is to turn the phone off or destroy it. As long as your phone has a signal, you can be traced. It's pretty crazy shite.

Don't wait. Starting is the hardest part and the farther you get from this the less you may remember and the less interest there may be in this particular case.

Oh and remember this, there's no "perfect" murder.

Leave you cell at home. Buy a burner phone. Have someone manage to use you phone at least once from your house while you are out doing you nasty business.

That's step 1.

No shite. But if you read the whole confession, he tried to make it sound like he wasn't going to hurt her and the situation escalated after she maced him. I don't believe a word the guy says and Mickey can't give her version of what happened But if he immediately turned off the phones, it would seem to indicate that he was planning on abducting her and killing her all along, not that it escalated out of his control.

IIRC by the time they found the grave site it was mostly bones.

Either way, I'm glad she was able to leave permanent scars on that piece of shite. Just wished she would've hit his jugular.

Did your LPD friend tell you if they tracked his and/or Mickey's phone to Whiskey Bay? I'm curious if he turned off both phones when he abducted her. It seems like that would definitely indicate premeditation.
Yeah, we talked about that. Apparently, if you don't make or receive a call, your phone location can't be determined. I don't remember if he said he made any calls on the way to N.O.

Makes sense.

I'll have to update my civilian counter intel tactic files.

Really? She died in May. Brandon confessed in August.

3 months. Is that enough in south Louisiana weather to decompose a body that severely? I'm not sure.

Same here

Initially he also told then he had nothing to do with her being missing too. Dude lies. Based on his life actions I say he had no intention of letting her live. How the hell you going to ram someone on a bike, throw them in your truck, rape them, then let them go? No way. He was too calculating to chance that.

True.

And, BSL had worked on their grandfather's farm as a farm hand many years ago. Described him as hard working and industrious. There was a falling out later when his behavior seemed inappropriate.

I heard it was pretty decomposed. Not to mention that site is on the edge of the woods and across the street from a lot of wooded acres if you know what I'm saying.

better take the battery out as well.

Don't sit on the book, you need to start now while it's fresh on the memory and the people you talked to can still be reached to verify details and such.

You may not realize it, but part of the draw of this case is for people that have lost loved ones to violence it hits home really hard and you can't help from rooting for justice and for answers to give the family solace, it's also an added benefit that a sociopath serial attacker/murderer is off the streets and in Angola for the rest of his days.

Charlie and the Shunicks also executed a grass roots effort to perfection, almost a playbook for people that may have to do the same in the future.
