I'm not sure exactly what the staff is doing strategically, but he was already going to be redshirted and a project. It's possible they cooled on him...

Talking to a couple of former players....stuff like this means he either isnt going to make his grades so its a nice way to let him back out or theyve cooled on him and its a nice way to let him look elsewhere

We have actually been looking at a lot of other prospects at DT. Maybe the staff likes our chances at one of them? Simultaneously, could be grades or maybe under performance on the field.
Good luck to him.
Hope he chooses LSU still!

That's not right. It's only a week from signing day. Why didn't they tell him early on? Or are we just getting part of the story?

If it was grades, he likely got an ACT score back and it wasn't good enough in order for LSU to sign him.

He just visited this past weekend so more than likely they told him then.
It's possible they could have prepped him for this or wanted to see what his grades are after first semester. But they must think he can fix it with summer school at JC Curtis house like lacy.

what is the rule. shollies count towrd the 25 limit based on who signs loi or based upon who actually enrolls. if its the former, I agree that we should not waste a schollie on lawson. awfully late in the game for this.

Sounds like he possibly had a bad 1st semester. Maybe know he won't be eligible but want to have him come in ala Avery Peterson. And make sure he doesn't go to a juco or smaller school

My memory is fuzzy on this one but I believe Avery signed and everything but couldn't get approved for call and had to go to Hargrave for one semester
