Manny Randazzo's is the best and can only be purchased at his shop near Causeway as far as I know. His ex wife puts out a pretty good king cake. She has a little satelite shop working out of Sal's Snoballs on Metairie Rd.

BR king cakes aren't that good compared to Nola. Especially in the LSU area...there's zero places around here that sell them except Wal-Mart and Winn Dixie. Their definition of a king cake is a hunk of bread with colored sugar on it. Yeah, I could drive to Ambrosia to buy a king cake but that's at least a 20 minute drive. Whole Foods is closer.

Randazzo's has the cake to icing thing nailed and uses sprinkles instead of caking on sugar. Too much sugar and its just gritty imo.
