I think they are building a pre-cast detour bridge currently over Beaver Creek on GS Rd. A new bridge is going to be built at the current location and I think it is being built to accommodate future widening of GS Rd. I think the transition down to existing 2-lane GS Rd is close to the new Dollar General store.
As for the intersection, I am sure that it will F up traffic like Magnolia Bridge/GS Rd intersection. The right turn lane coming from Florida Blvd direction looks small. I bet the left turn lanes with signal will run well for about 1 year until someone screws with timing or traffic patterns grow more than expected. I wish they would have made an overpass or put a roundabout at that location.

Ok that makes more sense being that the small bridge they put up is precast. was a dumbass idea putting that dollar general right there. somebody is gonna get killed pulling out of that shite hole

The local Central Paper had an article last week about DOTD announcing plans to extend Hooper across the Amite and having 4 lanes between Sullivan and GS. I would think they plan on going with 4 on GS from Hooper all the way back to Sullivan at the thruway.

I wouldnt get my hopes up on 4 lane GWS just yet... They just repaved that whole section of GWS. I doubt they would have done that if there was any plans to rip it up and 4 lane

The article made it sound like it's a way off and even then I wouldn't expect anything realistically in the next 10 years.
