Not new but Supreme Commander 2 and Supreme Commander Forged Alliance have great campaigns.

World in conflict was a great game with a strong story behind it.

I've seen both of those and never tried them. How old are they? I just tried dusting off Empire Earth 3 and it won't work with Windows 8.

Company of Heroes is a great game. Homeworld is old but one of the GOAT RTSs IMO.

Age of Empires 2 if dated graphics aren't an issue. SC2 has a decent campaign.

If your into semi modern naval warfare you can try janes: combat fleet simulator. Lots of strategy with interesting scenarios. Game is about 12yrs old.

Empire Earth 1 is pretty awesome. You can get it on gamefly for 5 bucks.

SCII: HoTS should be coming out here soon (haha. funny, right? A Blizzard game coming out soon...)
eta: March 12th, so kind of soon.
eta2: and if you have never played them, Starcraft, Starcraft: Brood War, Warcraft III, and Warcraft III: Frozen Throne are all FANTASTIC games.
