The classes can pretty much all be specd however, so, you can make a magic dmg ranger, or a melee dmg witch if you want to. its all about how you spend your points.

fair warning to all:
mervil(last boss of Act 1) is a bitch
Make sure you have cold resist items and nothing that makes your weapons do cold damage.

I started out with a 2h weapon but I think I almost have enough gear to transition over to wand/shield. Currently on Act 2 Cruel

Started a shadow today and made it to the first town before the servers went down. Very limited action but it looks good, I like the talent system a lot. I have a question though: I tried selling my loot to a vendor at the first town and they were paying in parts of scrolls of wisdom. Is there no currency? As I'm typing this, I'm pretty sure I didn't see any coins drop from enemies on that first map.

It seems that the scrolls are the currency and 3 pieces make 1 scroll from what I can tell, there are other things that you get pieces of too but I didn't play it long enough to fight those out yet.

That's what i thought. I wasn't sure if the trash loot I got was so bad, it wasn't even worth 1 copper

Ya and the currency can be used to enchant items with different properties.

so i'm level 11 now, great great game so far, impressed this is just the beta, will be getting this game. puts d3 to shame
