"I was extremely disappointed with the way last year went for me. I thought I got off to a good start and then all of a sudden it was just gone, so I have worked extremely hard this offseason to try and, you know, fix anything that was wrong with me last year. Consistency is a huge part of my game that I try to bring every year. I know the batting average is a huge stat for fans and everybody, but when you get to this level it's about run production and I've been consistent in run production each year that I've been in the big leagues. This year was a little drop-off for me. I planned on fixing that this offseason and I'm pretty sure that I did that. I'm in the best shape of my life and I am ready for the season to start tomorrow. I'm chomping at the bit, anytime, you know, if you had a bad day or a bad year you just can't wait to get that next day or next year started. I'm ready and can't wait to show everybody that I'm the player that I've always been."
First "best shape of my life" story of the year comes from our very own Dan Uggla.
