Did Swamps off himself because we dealt Prado?

Haven't seen him around these parts much.

re: The ATL Thread: Offseason Edition

First "best shape of my life" story of the year comes from our very own Dan Uggla.

quote:

"I was extremely disappointed with the way last year went for me. I thought I got off to a good start and then all of a sudden it was just gone, so I have worked extremely hard this offseason to try and, you know, fix anything that was wrong with me last year. Consistency is a huge part of my game that I try to bring every year. I know the batting average is a huge stat for fans and everybody, but when you get to this level it's about run production and I've been consistent in run production each year that I've been in the big leagues. This year was a little drop-off for me. I planned on fixing that this offseason and I'm pretty sure that I did that. I'm in the best shape of my life and I am ready for the season to start tomorrow. I'm chomping at the bit, anytime, you know, if you had a bad day or a bad year you just can't wait to get that next day or next year started. I'm ready and can't wait to show everybody that I'm the player that I've always been."

Did he do yoga or P90X or something over the offseason? Because Uggla is and has been jacked for years. I hope he doesn't mean he has bulked up even more.

Interesting article on the Upton trade. A very good take on it.

re: The ATL Thread: Offseason Edition

"Atlanta needs a hip flavor" WTF?...um, not really. Love the spin on this trade. Is he thinking that blacks in Atl will finally support MLB? Total BS! 95% of folks that support the Braves are white (talking Turner Field attendence)...Sorry, African Americans would rather support/watch the NBA or NFL. It's just their preference and no amount of black players on the Braves will change that fact.

I am looking forward to seeing what Francisco can do while being given semi-regular at bats. And I am really excited about watching Teheran pitch every fifth day.
