Where was all the outrage when the schedule gave 6 or 7 SEC schools bi weeks before playing Bama a few years ago? Surely those same people in Birmingham were running things then too? It was after all, in 2009 and 2010.

Schools get to request when they want their bi-week, they don't get to request their cross division rival and who they want to request as their second cross division game.

quote:

If the pendulum swings and Tennessee vaults its way to the top of the SEC east where it stood for a decade? Is it still unfair?

What if Muschamp turns out to be a Ron Zook clone? Is it still unfair?

What if your gump Aunt had balls? She"male" would be your gump Uncle.

First Muschamp is not a Ron Zook, we know he coached for LSU. Second look at UF body of work compared to Tenn's not even close UF has accomplished a hell of a lot more and I promise you even when Tenn did have it's good years under Fulmer teams were more afraid of UF than Tenn.

Look the fair way to do this is not to have cross-division rivals so no one get's a clear advantage no matter how a team trends. I mean do you really think that having UK as a division rival is a fair match up for a west team, no freaking way! Have both cross division games be home and away for different teams each year so that their is no way it can reek as bias. You have to play everyone in the West, you should have to play everyone in the East too. It is not too difficult to determine or make educated guesses who is going to be competitive the following year since they put the schedules out so late every year. Make one game what should be an easier game and one game what should be a more difficult game for everyone. That way no one can raise the issue of biasses. I mean come on, they take away your UGA game this year and give you Mizzou, and you get UK next year give me a F*CKING break, you can't say there was no politics involved in that one and if you do, bro I have some beach front property in Tenn I want to sell you cheap for beach front property, it is a steal you need to jump on it.

You think the people above care about the fans? No.

Fans will still fork out the money, the games will still have advertisements, and the SEC will still rake in millions.

There is nothing you can do but live with it.

The SEC and national media are corrupt. It's over. They are in bed together and in too deep. That's the reality of college football for the 114 or so teams that aren't "Brand" teams. LSU isn't a big enough "brand" to warrant that type of attention/recognition/leeway. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Your wrong if enough people speak loudly enough you can affect change. It might not happen overnight but it will happen. Jobs in the SEC are not lifetime jobs and no one likes scrutiny, especially when they are doing something wrong. I didn't say it would be easy, but it is a hell of a lot easier today with social media to affect change. It is going to take more than just LSU and it's fans to affect the change, it will take the entire SEC which it affects. But believe me I don't think USC, UGA and UF & Ark are happy that the Gumps continue to get a clear schedule tot the title either while the 5 of us keep beating each other up. You can probably add TAMU soon to that list also.

If we shut up than you are right it will not change, but if we use the social media to put pressure on the Universities administrators along with putting pressure on the media etc.. change can and will be affected. I did not say it would be easy and I did not say it would be done quickly, but it can be done. But it can be done with some effort.

we need a campaign of shirts, signs and letters.

this story has to get out to the legit press!!

FAIR FOOTBALL!!

You are correct, I wish more fans felt like you because we need a ground swell to change it, or it will not be changed. One thing I can promise is no one that is doing something unfair likes a spot light on them, even as powerful as Slive is. If Slive comes under public and media scrutiny, I promise you it will change. The way social media takes off in this day and age, something that would have taken 5 to 10 years to change can be affected in a year IF ENOUGH PEOPLE raise their voices about it.

I think you mean "bye" weeks.

Bama fans, Saban, and the Alabama administration complained loudly (aka, butthurt), and guess what? A new rule was instituted shortly after preventing that from happening in the future.

Playing a weak schedule can hurt a team as much as help it.

re: Bleacher Report even recognizes what we all have been saying.

I thought the argument was that a certain school saw preferential treatment regarding scheduling. If that were true they wouldnt have had two years in which so many teams had bye weeks before they played.

I'm not debating cross divisional opponents. I'm simply saying teams are cyclical and a team like tenn won't be down forever. I think the LSU gator game is one of the best games going. It would be a shame to replace it. Jmo

But please, carry on. My aunt went to Penn btw.

In 2010 6 teams had off weeks before playing us.

Not if you want the easiest path to the SEC Championship.

Yep you are right they did and to be honest with you it is a sign of respect, because that is how good your team has become. That being said you guys asked for your bye week prior to the LSU game in 2011 and got it, you asked for the week off that was against your toughest opponent also. The way it works you only get one bye week so try and choose it wisely, makes sense everyone wants it prior to their Bama game, you guys have won the last 3 of 4 National Championships. But that doesn't mean their schedule was easy because they took that week off. You guys are playing the cream puffs of the SEC East and getting away with it. Go play UGA and UF or USC in any combination in the same season and then you can complain. Oh wait you did complain, as a poster stated you did complain about everyone wanting their bye week prior to playing Bama and the SEC Adminstration "as always" came running to your aid. Those cheating f*cks!!!

We beat Bama before and they were given another chance in the title game. That was BS.

deaux68 you don't even have a leg to stand on, you haven't played UGA during the regular season since 2008. They are arguably the one of the toughest teams in the East and have been for the past 5 years. We played them in 2009 and now in 2013 it is just BS. You were scheduled to play them this year but somehow the powers at be decided to take them off your schedule this year and replace them with Mizzou, wonder how the f*ck that happen. You guys should put asterisks' by your national championships thanking the SEC admin for your scheduling, the cheating a**holes.

And by the way, that is not even the topic of discussion. Read the first post, the discussion was that every single team in the SEC "except for Bama" is ranked in the top 50 toughest schedules for 2013. That is the biggest crock of crap being shoveled down our throats. You guys should be embarrassed. You played no one from the East 2012, and no one from the East in 2013 and in 2011 you played UF which was breaking in a new coach. Like I said the SEC administration is a bunch of Gump Cheating F*cks.

In 2011 didn't Bama play at Penn State and at Florida? 2012 was an overrated Michigan team in the season opener. The same Michigan team that took USC to the wire. And just looking at the final AP poll I see more wins vs top 25 teams for Bama than any other school.

You really think there is a master conspiracy? The preseason schedule strength and the ending will look completely different.

And it really doesn't matter. If you win them all you're going to play the best team in the East then the second best team in the country.

The SEC office has nothing to do with your out of conference schedule.

This all boils down to your SEC East schedule in 2012/2013 (bridge schedules decided by Mark Womack, Bio), which has been discussed ad nauseam.

As has been stated here many times:

In 2011, Bama only played FOUR FBS teams with a winning record in a 12 game regular season, while beating three. They also finished third in the SEC. That resume was good enough to get them a rematch. Notice my point above didn't say "ranked" teams, or top 10, top 15, or top 20...Just teams that were above .500. That's how weak their schedule was in 2011.

Remember now we have to beat them twice for elimination, while they play a schedule that's 2-3 times easier than ours and only have to beat us once in their two chances.

It's a huge double standard.

LSU 8-0 280 67 13-1 500 158 L1
Alabama 7-1 271 67 12-1 453 106 W4
Arkansas 6-2 266 197 11-2 478 289 W1
Auburn 4-4 160 246 8-5 334 376 W1
Mississippi State 2-6 145 185 7-6 329 256 W2
Penn State finished 9-4 and Florida finished over .500 as well. That's 6. I'm just adding some perspective. I'm not defending 2011 at all.

The swapping of UGA with Mizzou was crap. Although it did possibly save a rematch for the SECCG.

IDK the bridge schedule maker was an individual. I thought it was a committee.
