Ok I guess the intolerant OT censors are now out because somebody has challenged some sacred belief they hold to and that cannot be permitted. So cue the name calling, the childish tantrum of those unable to deal with different preferences. And yes, X-Files is one of the greatest tv series of all time.
someone is extremely upset. it's going to be okay little buddy

re: X-Files > Fringe

Some of my favorite episodes barely have the two of them written in. The stand alone episodes like The Unnatrual is top notch. Duchovny actually wrote and directed this one.

I enjoyed the Mulder and Scully relationship/romance. The strong bond and friendship with hugging and snuggling and risking their lives and careers for each other. Did they get it on?

I plan on watching Fringe in the future but they can not be compared. Without the X-Files, Fringe would never come to be.

almost entirely, it's really good writing, but it can't hold water to fringe.. simply because of previously spoken things.

re: X-Files > Fringe

Plenty of storyline including the first movie.

My only beef with the show was how ridiculously skeptical Scully was about everything.

A damn tree sapling could burst out of a person's chest, grow into a 200 foot tall Redwood, split down the middle and crash to earth with only a giant green alien standing there until the giant Aline vaporizes and green mist shoots off into space.

Scully would say there was a logical scientific explanation for it all and it has nothing to do with aliens. That got old and it is really hard to stomach if you marathon the show.

The above poster didn't watch the show if he thinks it was almost all monster of the week.

It has an overarching theme but admittedly falls apart in seasons 8,9 though you do get all your answers and closure. It's like a show that ended but just kept making more.

1. Duchovny left
2. Fox wasn't commiting to them beyond one year at a time which was before duchovny left. Proving once again that FOX executives are fricking retarded.

Show really starts to hit its stride in season 3. Watch the movie after you finish season 5

Enjoy

that's a little discouraging. i'm ok with monster of the week episodes but they need to coincide with at least a little mythology. supernatural did it perfectly from 1-5.

re: X-Files > Fringe

Per wiki

Between 7 to 9 episodes per season were part of the alien mythology. I don't see 63 -81 episodes being almost no arc.

Given that number, there were almost more arc episodes than total fringe episodes.

This is not true at all. She's a scientist whose skepticism is constantly challenged by what she sees. Mulder's work becomes more legitimate because of scully.

Is that what you think? I guess it's tough to tell the difference, looking at a few of your more recent posts.

BS. I love the show but every episode she is over the top skeptical even when all facts and evidence clearly show something paranormal or alien.

I was definitely trolling on this thread. neither me nor fox mulder have seen enough of the other show to make a justifiable claim to which is better. looking at our sig pics and his screen name it is obvious we are both biased also.

Her purpose is to provide scientific explanations to Mulder's work. When she sees some shite she is shaken but will still attempt to explain things with science. They both see a monster, mulder says its the Loch Ness monster, scully will say its an undiscovered species that blah blah blah

Which as I said, is hard to stomach when marathoning the show. Watching it week to week it isn't as bad although even then it was hard to stomach certain episodes but watching all day on Netflix, it gets old fast.

I did watch a season and a half of fringe. I really love it. But I've seen enough to tell you it's not as good and that certainly is not a slight. X files is listed among the best television shows ever made. If my DVR didn't fricking stop recording it I'd be finished but once I misse 5 episodes, I was fricked.
