No different than bush raping the constitution via the patriot act. He brought it up in SoTU too. This doesn't justify BHO; hes a piece of shite as well. Actually I'm not even sure why I posted this. Just hate politicians I guess.

Reading a WaPo article last night is where I was informed that having the Sandy Hook families in attendance at the SoTU is in the works. My point is two fold; to bring to light the POTUS's shrewd politics with the objective of bringing the fencesitters over to his side by emotional appeal and to point out the fact that handgun killings (which are waaaaaaaaaay more than the boogie man looking rifle killings) don't matter. If banning guns that kill is the objective, then left should be going after handguns. But they are going after assault looking guns because they know many people don't own them and they look dangerous.
It's all about taking our guns one step at a time. First it was assault weapons and now assault looking weapons. What's next?

I specifically remember when it was set to expire.
Bush mentioned it in a SoTU address and all the democrats applauded. Then he said "The threat of terror is not set to expire on that deadline" and then all the republicans applauded. I was sick to my stomach.

He did mention it in 2004 but your OP did not seem to indicate you were talking about renewal.
