BJ Upton may hit after Freeman dropping McCann down to the 6 hole to break up the lefty/lefty in the 4/5 hole.

McCann may be out awhile after off-season shoulder surgery correct? I know he wants to return opening day but I've read reports he may miss the first month as well

re: The ATL Thread: Offseason Edition

I think I may have read that on the Arizona forum, so I guess thats not the most unbiased source of info. I thought I had heard about some problems with an Upton, but it may have been BJ like a lot of you suggested.

I do think losing Prado's presence in the clubhouse is gonna hurt. The guy was just a ballplayer, kinda similar to David Eckstein. I know he only had one more year, but I feel like he would have taken less to stay in ATL. Maybe that's just wishful thinking though.

I'm also wondering whose gonna be on base for all these sluggers..We might set a record for solo blasts.

I used to be a pretty optimistic fan, I think the SEC championship robbed me of my innocence though.

Nah, like I said, I liked the trade. Just voicing some concerns.

That "Wat? Lady" was directed at you comparing David fricking Eckstein to Prado.

ETA: The "Wat? Lady" also could be directed at the solo homer comment as Robot has brought up.

Top 10 Right Fielders Right Now on MLB Network aired tonight. They still listed J Up as a RF since that's where he played last year. Everyone had both Heyward and Upton in their top 6 except Bill James, who listed Heyward 1st and did not have Upton in his top 10.

Jon Hart:
1. Jose Bautista
2. Giancarlo Stanton
3. Justin Upton
(No 4-10)

Bill James:
1. Jason Heyward
2. Ben Zobrist
3. Jose Bautista

Eric Byrnes:
1. Giancarlo Stanton
2. Jose Bautista
3. Justin Upton
...
6. Jason Heyward

MLB Network "Shredder":
1. Jose Bautista
2. Giancarlo Stanton
3. Jason Heyward
4. Carlos Beltran
5. Justin Upton

Simmer down brahh.

I think its a good comparison. Both gritty, tough team players. obviously Prado is more talented than Eckstein ever dreamt of being, but I thought it was pretty obvious I wasn't comparing abilities...

re: The ATL Thread: Offseason Edition

McCann says he'll be ready: Braves catcher Brian McCann, who underwent right shoulder surgery in October, expressed optimism when pressed about his readiness for 2013. "Being three months out of surgery, I feel like I'm ahead of schedule," McCann told MLB.com's Mark Bowman. "I feel better each day and I'm very encouraged by the signs that I have received recently." McCann could get clearance to play catch as early as the end of this week, and Bowman suggests that McCann could begin swinging a bat by the end of the month. Additionally, McCann says the surgery was a huge success for him, physically. "Now that I've had the surgery, I can tell a huge difference with my range of motion and flexibility. This is as free as my shoulder has been for a few years."

That's the lastest on sportsline.

I hope McCann has a great year. Too bad even if he does, he probably won't be in ATL next year
