Back when I went through boot camp only 3 of us shot expert. Me, a guy from Slidell and a kid from St. Louis. Not that easy

Must be a new scoring system, I shot 239 out of 250 in 2003.

The corps combines table one and table two scores. Table one = 250 scoring scale, table 2 = 100 point scoring table. Combine the two totals out of 350

Table 1 is fricking retarded. The lack of combat simulation is upsetting, and that is what is used as scoring, on many occasions, for marines composites.

Table 2 was a joke when we did run it, basically it was killing time for unc's to try to requalify.
Either way, I never ran across a single instance where it was used for promotions or anything else

Table 1 is to demonstrate a basic understanding of the fundamentals of marksmanship. That's why the fun stuff is in the other three tables.

I got 240 my 2nd year in on table one. The standing off hand always got me, its where I always dropped points. I was 4th award expert throughout USMC career. My last year they had me as a range coach. lol. Ever try being an E4 and coach staff NCOs? lol..that didnt go well. "well, staff sargent, you cant shoot worth a crap"
