The official website lists the primary color as blue and the secondary as gold. We better not get a Wizards gold alternate down the road.

I have nothing against lockdowndefense, but I have to agree that Rougarou, Krewe and, yes, even Voodoo all would have been lame for various reasons. Pelicans as a symbol, nickname, mascot or whatever seems unique to Louisiana. The logo design? Really, how much can you really do if you're incorporating a basketball?

It's an extremely tough decision for a club to make, you open yourself up to criticism from either side- either it's too plain and boring or too different and unique. IMO, they hit a home run. The name fits, it isn't a replica of something else and is unique to the state. The color scheme is spot on, especially with the main two being navy blue and gold. The main logo? I mean it may not be the best thing ever but it isn't bad and the secondary logos are awesome.
Once the unis come out and they start playing and people have a chance to digest it, I think it will be viewed as one of the better franchise brands in the league.

The name is ...mehhh
The Blue and White in the logo are too associated with Atlanta. As is the orientation of the pelican and basketball... way too close to call it unique.
I don't think the basketball market in nola will support an nba team in the long run. I think the name and the team will be short lived.
**Has a lot to do with the 4-5 "superteams" that stern is allowing to take over and squash the rest of the league.

To be honest, I never really liked the name "Saints" for an NFL franchise. It grew on on me over time. I don't like Pelicans at all but I guess I'll get used to it. I'm OK with the Logo design though.

I think that you think that you know what's up, but you would be wrong. Stern and Adam Silver, promise, will do whatever it takes to keep the team here. Plus the team will be roughly in the middle of the pack in terms of profitability. No worries.

The name is fine IMO. Better than a lot of the NBA nicknames. And it fits the state.
THe logo I don't particularly care for. The one that was floating around on here awhile back was pretty good. Pity the didn't/couldn't use that one.
