"What sport or activity got its name from the french word for stick"
Thanks to this website (  ) I knew that word was baton, but our guess was still way off. In fact, I'm still not sure how the correct answer is correct, but whatever.

Well I've never had french in my life and don't live in LA, so it's not really common knowledge. I only knew because of "red stick"

In Georgia and Alabama? I mean obviously I know what a baton is, but I would've never had any reason to connect the dots that it's the french word for stick.

I'll just say it, apparently the answer is billiards. Yes, I realize that billiards is played using a stick so that makes sense. But I have no idea where the french interpretation comes into play here.
