I'd like to see a tally of all of the blood needlessly spilled by our government, its proxies, and the regimes it's supported since the 1960s. At 6 qts a man, it could probably fill a moderate-sized reservoir. Maybe Americans (esp southerners) wouldn't be all "Murka, frick yeah" everytime we started putting boys on planes.
What gets me is that folks turn a blind eye to what our government does abroad and then are surprised when the blowback inevitably manifests itself in the form of terrorism. LINK

So, 9-11 was revenge because the US killed a bunch of Arabs? Really? When did this occur?

It was actually mainly revenge for occupying Saudi Arabia.

Didn't Bush go to Congress and they gave approval for him to send troops into Iraq and for us to remove Saddam Hussein? When did Obama go to Congress to do such in Pakistan and Yemen?

It's collateral damage. Stuff like this just happens in war.

9/11 was a classic example of how blowback manifests itself after a nation spends decades meddling in the affair of other nations around the globe. Surely, you aren't one of those people who believed W when he said, "They hate us for our freedoms", are you?

Do you believe that Congress has the legal and moral authority remove foreign heads of state as it see fit? If your answer is "yes", do any other nations have this right, or is it just an American privilage?

With the approval of the Saudi royal family. Those hypocrites did nothing to show their revenge towards them.

So what you're saying is "the chickens came home to roost"? I've got to hand it to you and the Republicans posting in his thread and your other threads calling Obama a murderer, you've now come full circle and support the president's former pastor who also condemns such behavior. Of course when he said it, your side said he hates America. Still think such criticism of America for unjust wars is "hating America"?

Obama is all about the safety of the children. Well, that is unless you are In the path of his killer drones or in the womb!

Different "theys" turn a blind eye depending upon whether or not "their guy" is in power. Mainstream liberals have been all but silent about the president's use of force abroad, though they spent the previous eight years crowing about every boot and shell sent overseas Lots of conservatives, with the exception of McCain and a few others, have suddenly found their inner pacifist. Libya was somehow a bigger deal than Iraq. What a joke.

The Dixie Chicks are still boycotted on some stations by people who say similar things about the current president. And the folks accusing Obama of "palling around with terrorists" now see nothing wrong with stocking up guns and ammo in preparation for the fight against the "tyrannical government".

I understand and can agree with your other criticisms - but these are entirely different things.

No. I'm saying al Qaeda carried out revenge attacks for reasons such as the US occupying Saudi Arabia. I never even implicitly stated whether it was justified or not, so I don't understand where you are coming from.
quote:

I hate America. I don't see the relevance in your attack against me.
