Have been to several....be prepared for massively watered down bottom shelf booze unless you go to Sandals..Stayed at Moonpalace 10 years ago and had about 20 drinks by the pool with little to no effect. Finally ask the bartender for a shot out of the bottle he was using....It was rum but tasted more like pure Aquafina.

Cozumel is better. We enjoyed Iberostar, which has small individual huts instead of a hotel setup.

I went to Temptation in the past. Adults only. Had a great time, no complaints, but I feel like there are better places out there.

The best resort is the Fairmont Mayacoba. It was amazing; however, it might be a little too expensive. We originally went to Playa del Carmen, but left immediately because of shitty food and shitty rooms. Hope it helps!

Well looking for 5nights 6days...wanting to keep it under 4k including flight...I figure that would get me a fairly nice place...would like all inclusive more than likely.

We are going to the Royal in Playa, been there several times already and it is 2500 for 5 nights including flight from Houston. The food is great and the town is really nice and walkable. Some cool local bars and a good feel. Went to the Royal in Cancun last year and it was nice but not into the cancun scene as much.

went there in 08. It was really nice. I've had some friends go since and they all gave it very positive reviews. Good drinks. Good food. Good service.

Not even top 5 in the area. Stayed there, it was awful. All of the Palace resorts are better. With a palace resort you also get to stay at any and play/drink at them all. Edit: for more detail. Excellence Playa Mujares is about 30-45 mins from Cancun, and if you want to do any excursions it adds to the time. The beach is isolated, the rooms are nice, and the food is sub-par.

Went to Excellence in November for my Honeymoon. All-Inclusive, no kids, best service and great food. BEST resort I've ever been too.
