What are your thoughts on this? I think as long as you are respectful of your surroundings you can rage as hard as you want. The worst are people behind you that ask you to sit down. Are you serious? We are at a rock and roll show!!

my opinion is that its all good assuming you don't touch other people. If you have to touch other people, and its not everyone touching then you need to control yourself.

I know. Once, I saw the Allman Brothers at the Saenger and I'd eaten a bunch of shrooms, but all these old people kept telling me to sit down. it was not a sit down kind of show.

Not a big fan of beach balls. It's hard to focus on the music when every couple minutes you get popped in the back of the head.

I don't mind standing at a show even when there are seats, but I also can enjoy the show just as much when sitting. If you couldn't get floor (standing room) tickets, you should at least respect everyone else's preference for standing / sitting. As far as moshing and crowdsuring goes, a big F U to you people.

If I'm at a rock show I'm going to stand up end of story.... If you don't want to stand up then stay at home. Now if its some chill show like citizen cope or Bon iver then yea sitting is appropriate. It just depends on the mood the music sets

and if I am sitting, I am doing so in the balcony and everyone is sitting. If you can't stand for 90 minutes, then you might want to go to a movie instead of a show.

At all live shows, it should be compulsory for the gallery to remain seated and courteous for the duration of the performance.

What really grinds my gears are a-holes who shriek "Wooooooo!" during solo pieces, particularly fingerstyle guitar.

i agree. I do like a well placed freebird though. I actually almost got into a fight at a show b.c the guy next to me was whistling in my ear during the show. I asked him to quit. He got really irrate, luckily a venue employee came over and asked him to cut it out before it escalated.

Mosh pits are acceptable ,and even encouraged at some shows. GG Allin and Rage Against the Machine come to mind in that regard.

I will admit that I am that a-hole who sings along even though I sound like Leon Redbone with laryngitis. I went and saw Sleigh Bells at the Varsity and everyone was into it and it was packed but there was this goth couple who both were over 300 lbs who were acting like they were in an Insane Clown Posse mosh pit. They had a 20 ft area to themselves because they were swinging around so wildly. What pisses me of the most at concerts is when people just have to be right at the stage and will push people out of the way to get there and they just ruin everyones time because you cant even put your arms down its so packed.

Totally fine with getting unintentionally bumped into if I'm up front, even ok with an occasional free bird. I just hate people who sing along at the top of their lungs, you know all the words, we get it.

Guys who bring their girlfriend to metal shows, when its obvious their girlfriend doesn't like metal, and want to get up front in the mosh but don't want anyone touching their girlfriend are the worst.
