The patio is in the front, facing Perkins Road.. Do people really want to eat facing Perkins Road traffic? Why didn't they put the patio in the back or put a higher wall that would've provided more privacy?

I like the setup from the patio. I can't wait to try it.

If the breeze is from the South, you'll also be trying a side of car exhaust..

It was awesomely roomy and quaint when I used to go to it at its old location over by Highland & Perkins in the southeastern corner of the parish. I understand from a business perspective why they want to move to a busier part of town, but from a customer's perspective, I'm quite sure that I will like the new location less.

Meh, don't think I'll be giving it a try anytime soon. The more I spend on dinner, the more I expect to be able to enjoy the food and company at my table. It's also a shame that the outdoor area is a stone's throw from Perkins. Oh well. Hopefully it will at least decrease the wait times at restaurants I prefer

John Besh has an interesting solution to noise issues at Luke - egg crate foam on the bottom of all the tables.

I noticed and have wondered the same upon seeing it the last two weeks driving by. My hunch is that it will be modified in some way or form as they go forward, upon seeing people not be attracted to dining in the left turn lane of Perkins/Acadian. The noise, car fumes, heat,etc..will prove to be a turnoff. And I agree, if Trader Joe and the rest of the development turn out as well as Acme and Galatoire's have, then even a parking lot view of TJ would've been a better view.

It's the first prototype restaurant for the soon to come chain. Houston is next with Dallas, Atlanta and Birmingham to follow. Yep. You heard it here first.

I do know that this BR location is projected to be 10x more profitable than the original and if that is the case you know the owner will expand

I agree. I think I saw it here, that the best thing they serve at Galatoire's is your third drink. Having said that, it is one of my favorite restaurants in NOLA. The new ownership is all about expanding. They can use the name to open up other locations around the country with 1/20th of the overhead and turn profits ...

Thanks for the heads up on the noise, I will NOT ever go to Superior Grill (besides the food sucks) for that reason. I hate eating on the 50 yd line at an LSU-Bama game, ceiling fans blowing full force on my neck cooling my food faster than I can eat it is a close second.

Not quite. It's been a widely circulated rumor for a long time. At least since Georges bought the joint.

Wow, thanks. I saw this at Bourne and wondered what it was for. Bourne definitely needed this with all of the hard surfaces in that place.

Only Houston which has been announced and Dallas has been discussed and speculated here but not Atlanta and Birmingham. All within the next five years. So bookmark this and come back in 2018 and remind me I'm a dumbass.

I think I'll try it for myself and see how the noise level is. I like to be able to hear my dining companions and the waiter, but I don't care for quiet restaurants at which I feel the need to whisper so the rest of the diners don't hear my conversation. I like lively places.

I find it hard to imagine any other Galatoire's outpost will be as profitable as the original on Bourbon St. I dont say this because of typical NO is better bs but rather that a significant percentage of the check average at the original is probably due to alcohol sales. Alcohol is a tremendous profit stream for restaurants. If people are just going to other Galatoire's outposts for an appetizer, glass of wine, and entree, they arent going to be that profitable. Galatoires on Bourbon is a bar with sometimes above average bar food.

The 10x point is just nuts. There can't be a single restaurant location in the state that currently makes more than 5x what Galatoires Bourbon Street makes. There's no way this BR "Bistro" is going to be twice as profitable than any other restaurant in Louisiana or 10x as profitable as their other location. Like you, I'd be surprised if it even equals the Bourbon Street revenue.
