Why don't the women have to play best of 5. Billie Jean wanted equal pay for equal play. Best of three really allows a hot streak of say an hour to determine the winner. It's not like the can't do it because they are the weaker sex. A women's marathon isn't 60% as long as the men's.

omigod. You wouldn't want it. It would be a scheduling nightmare and insufferable for fans watching bitches choke away 2 set leads, leading to six hour matches when you all you want is to watch the guys play. Fitness is bad enough for some guys. Chicks would be cramping and puking like crazy IMO.

I know it's entirely too early, but that's why I wanted Serena to win last night because she had the best chance of the two (Sloane) to win the major.
I don't think Sloane is ready. Nothing against her but I doubt it would have been even close if Serena was 100 percent healthy

Sloane is settling into the match more this set though.
Making Azarenka hit more balls is key right now. Make this set longer.
Azarenka is a pussy when it comes to extreme heat and the roof is wide open

yeah she is making it more competitive. She showed big time inexperience by not trying her all to win that last service game in the first set so that she could serve in front in the second.

I'm repeating much of what was said above, but you, as a viewer, do not want the women to play in five set matches. The fourth and fifth sets would be played at about the level of a men's 4.5 level player, but only intermittently between injury timeouts. Vegas would begin setting over/unders on the total number of trainer calls per match.

Stephens seems to bring her A game against Serena. I don't think she would have gotten a bagel dropped on her or anything. But she likely still would have lost something like 6-3, 6-4.
