| Meals from this weekend Updated with pics (Posted on 1/22/13 at 3:44 pm)
Saturday Brunch: Atchafalaya for 2 Me: The Boudreaux eggs over easy, alligator sausage, jalapeño corn bread, crystal potatoes, creole hollandais Wife: Eggs Atchafalaya fried green tomatoes, poached eggs, jumbo lump crab, hollandaise Side of cream cheese grits All was very good. Probably my 3rd favorite meal from the weekend. Dinner Saturday: Boucherie for 2 Appetizers: Blackened shrimp and grit cake with warm house made bacon vinaigrette Boudin ball with garlic aioli Fresh cut french fries with garlic butter and parmesan reggiano Me: Saint Louis style Niman Ranch ribs celeriac apple remoulade and crispy fried shallots Wife: Pulled pork cake with potato confit and purple cabbage cole slaw Overall enjoyed the meal. I was more impressed with the appetizers than the entrees. the pulled pork was very good and the ribs were very tender and flavorful but it did not feel like "finer" dining. french fries were some of the best i have ever had. very similar to curbside. Sunday Brunch: Coquette Apps: We had the fried sweetbreads but they are not on the online menu so I do not remember the exact things. They were pretty good. never had them before and would probably order again at another place. They reminded me of oysters in texture. Fried Oysters, boudin noir and meyer lemon, parsley.----very good Me: Eggs benedict with tasso Wife: Pork and cheddar sausage with an egg over easy. we both had the milk punch which was very good also. For the price, would not go back. Atchafalaya was better and so is chimes brunch. Sunday Dinner: Upperline for 3--Highlight of the trip Apps: Spicy Shrimp with Jalapeño Cornbread & Aïoli Crispy Louisiana Oysters with Celery Root Remoulade The Original Fried Green Tomato with Shrimp Remoulade Entrees: Cane River Country Shrimp New Orleans Style Veal Grillades with Mushrooms & Cheddar Grits Tom Cowman's Famous Roast Duck with Garlic Port or Ginger Peach Sauce Desserts: Upperline Warm Louisiana Pecan Pie Crème Brûlée with Crushed Pralines Honey- Pecan Bread Pudding with Toffee Sauce Everything was excellent. The atmosphere was great. The service was great. Jo-ann? the owner was very pleasant and attentive. Standouts were the oysters, duck, veal, and pecan pie. Monday Lunch: Cochon for 3 Apps: wood-fired oyster roast fried alligator with chili garlic aioli smoked cobia with apple calas fried boudin with pickled peppers cane syrup glazed pork cheeks with mushrooms & roasted corn grits Entrees: rabbit & dumplings oyster & bacon sandwich Wife ate macaroni & cheese casserole Side: Sweet Potato casserole with smoked jowl Overall the 2nd best meal of the weekend only because upperline set the bar too high. Everything i had was really good. I ordered the oyster blt and it had 10 or so fried oysters and normal sized sandwich break with bacon. the roasted oysters were very good along with the pork cheeks. How do i post pictures again?

Wow we do not see eye to eye. Upperline is one of my least favorite meals in New Orleans of all time. I disliked it. Everything about it was mediocre as frick. Would never go back and will always be the one on here to argue against it, I just do not understand the love AT ALL. Coquette, on the other hand, is my favorite restaurant in the city, especially for Dinner. I agree that I like Atchafalaya's brunch slightly more though.

Great review. Y'all did some damn fine eating! Post pics by hosting them on a site like photobucket or tinypic then post them by clicking "img" and pasting the image-only url.

Coquette is in that strip of bad magazine restaurants.

To be fair I don't think any dish on the menu is over $ 16.00.

Yep. Boucherie may just be the best meal for your money in the city. Also their house bloody mary w/ bbq sauce

Sorry. Took a nap after posting. To clarify, $30 for 4 ribs and a ball of pulled pork seemed expensive for bbq. I enjoyed it but would have rather spent a little more and had something better. It was no doubt good though.

I would be willing to try coquette for dinner. I really liked the room and the atmosphere but the brunch itself did not do it for me.

I agree if that's all the food you got for that price. 4 ribs seriously?
