To answer the question in the OP, no, he wouldn't turn it down. IF (massive IF) Texas offered that amount, Bama would match and he would accept the Bama offer of $70M.
If it got down to a bidding war, Bama is losing that. No one in the country has deeper pockets than Texas and its not close. That being said I don't see any of this ever happening.

If it got into a bidding war it isn't going above $10M. It likely wouldn't go above $8M. Saban currently makes like $6M and will likely get a bump to $6.5M. I think most in college know that Saban is at Bama for the long haul. They've known that since 2011 when Texas first measured his interest. The NFL learned that this year. Now if only we could ever convince rival fans who are so desperate for him to leave of what college powers and NFL teams have come to accept...

The 1st offer from the boosters was $7.5 mil. They've had to up it to $10 mil to keep in the game. If they were to pull it off, it would be like a coup. The AD & Brown are both aware of the shenanigans. Believe me, their eyes are wide open now, although Texas has never operated that way. These guys are rogues with big egos who've cut deals with international heads of state. They believe they can accomplish almost anything, but not everybody is on board.

If you think Nick gives 2 shits about what Terri thinks you're fooling yourself. Nick is all about Nick and Terri is simply along for the ride. Nothing wrong with that.

Like, for example, Nick Saban. He's not leaving Bama, my friend. He's ready turned down overtures from Texas (twice). He's at Bama until he's done with coaching. And at the guy who thinks he knows Saban and what he thinks about Mrs. Terri.

I bet if all the big time bama boosters got together they could find 70 mill to keep him.

This. And it wouldn't take "all the big time Bama boosters", either. There would be less then 5 phone calls needed. When they were firing Shula there was a "pass the hat" campaign to try to raise his $4M buyout. The campaign raised $16M in 3 days and one booster even said he would commit the full $4M if the right replacement was hired.

You can laugh all you want. But the is spot on. There is a reason why Saban spent alot of his time at LSU living in his pool house.
