maybe not so much with Greene. With no god damn 2nd round pick, probably a wash there.

Margus Hunt, DE, SMU (6081, 272 and 4.77): Similar to Ansah, Hunt is new to football and still developing into the player he has the talent to be. His incredible combination of height, long arms, natural explosion and elite speed, give him the tools to not only be a highly productive starter in the NFL, but to do so while lining up in a variety of spots. While he lacks the first step explosiveness and speed to beat NFL OT’s around the corner consistently, he has shown the ability to use his long arms, hands and strength to defeat pass blockers surprisingly well. There is little doubt that he will be a high draft pick because of his size, strength and athleticism, but what could help him really climb draft boards is proving that he can be effective playing in both a 34 and 43 defenses.
Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State (6021, 185 and 4.45 E): Viewed as the best senior cornerback in the nation entering 2012, Banks comes to Mobile having to prove to NFL teams that he warrants being in the discussion as the top overall cornerback now that underclassmen like Dee Milliner have entered the Draft. Banks’ combination of excellent size, long arms, playing speed and coverage/ball skills have led to his on-field play being compared to the Ravens’ Jimmy Smith. However, Banks does not always play with the physical or aggressive style that NFL teams want and needs to prove in Mobile that he is not afraid to play physical and hit despite having a thin frame. If Banks has a great week, he will likely secure a spot in the first round and could challenge to be a top 20 pick.

thanks Blues. I don't know why he isn't listed on the roster on the their Website. He was one of the earlier players selected to play in the game this year I believe.

offensive players to watch
the way I see it is:
a) Bushrod re-signed, putting my money here for now
b) sign a different free agent, some big names out there that could end up a better value signing than Bushrod
c) Charles Brown step in, cannot see it but when Bushrod took over in '09 he had even less reps than Brown under his belt
d) if none of these then the draft need factor skyrockets. In that case, these guys could be in the running for #15...
Oday Aboushi, OT, Virginia (6051, 315 and 5.15 E): Although not one of the big names that the media has been hyping as a first round pick all season, Aboushi comes to Mobile with an opportunity to secure a spot in the opening round. With good height and solid build, Aboushi looks the part of an NFL OT “on the hoof.” When his size combines with his smooth athleticism, good technique and competitiveness, he has all the tools to be a good starting left tackle in the NFL. Additionally, Aboushi brings his “hard hat” to the field every day and displays the take no prisoners attitude that I expect from an OT who grew up in Brooklyn, NY.
8. Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan (6071, 297 and 4.95 E): Perhaps the player in position to make the most money at the Senior Bowl, I believe Fisher will play so well that he will secure a spot in the top ten. When Jake Matthews and Taylor Lewan choose to return to school for their senior season, Fisher was given the opportunity to jump up and claim the spot as the number two OT. Possessing excellent height and long arms, Fisher has rare athleticism for a 6’7 OT. He makes it look easy sliding out to protect the corner vs edge rushers, can re-direct and slide in the other direction to handle quick pass rush moves back underneath and is outstanding pulling and adjusting to block out in space. Considered a better OT prospect than former Central Michigan OT Joe Staley, Fisher could lock up a spot in the top ten with a dominating week in Mobile.

Barrett Jones was also supposed to be in this game but he just had foot surgery. I think he'll be here for the interviews and what not though.
Also, the Auburn TE Philip Lutzenkirchen was going to play in the game but looks doubtful now. He also is recovering from an injury. If David Thomas does not come back, I would really like to see us pick this guy.

off the top of my head, I remember when Tampa Bay's staff coached up here the year that Cadillac Williams played in the game. Gruden definitely tipped his hand to the media all week at how much he liked the guy.
then last year, Mike Shanahan and the Redskins coached the South team. One Alfred Morris was on that team... hmmm...

One of the flaws with the Senior Bowl - and to be more precise, all the post-season all-star games - at least from the perspective of the upcoming pro draft, is that these games are only open to players who have exhausted their college eligibility. However, underclassmen leaving school early make up an increasingly important segment of the draft. This year, for example, a record 73 juniors and redshirt sophomores are included in the 2013 draft. And these underclassmen are expected to dominate the early picks this coming April. Indeed, 8 of the top 11 prospects on the latest GBN Big Board, as well 16 of the top 32 prospects overall, are either juniors or redshirt sophs. However, the Senior Bowl has taken a step this year to begin the process of incorporating underclassmen into the all-star game format. With the blessing of the NFL, junior OTs Justin Pugh of Syracuse and Alabama’s D.J. Fluker were late invitees to the Senior Bowl. It is still not a totally open concept. To be eligible for consideration for the Senior Bowl underclassmen must have been in school for four seasons and have graduated. They also need the support of their college coach. As a result, it may be a while before third-year juniors and redshirt sophomores start showing up in Mobile, however, its a start.

one more Saints specific-
With the Senior Bowl less than a week away, NFL teams are getting to know some potential prospects that could fall to them in either the upcoming NFL Draft or if they fly under the radar, could be snagged as an undrafted free agent.
Shane Hallam who is a draft analyst for draftcountdown.com, tweeted a picture yesterday of a scout for the New Orleans Saints sitting and talking with University of Georgia wide receiver Tavarres King.
For fans scratching the heads or thinking that the Saints need to be talking with a defensive player instead, just relax. The scouts on any NFL team wouldn’t be doing their job if they weren’t looking at all the merchandise.
King at 6’1 and 200 pounds was pretty productive with his time as a Bulldog. For his college career he had 136 receptions for 2,602 yards and 21 touchdowns. His senior year was the most impressive with 42 receptions for 950 yards, averaging 22.5 yards per reception, and 9 touchdowns.
On CBSSports.com and NFLDraftScout.com, King is currently projected as a 5th found pick in the upcoming draft which is where the Saints excel at in finding offensive hidden gems.

What can I expect from the first practice? I've got it on the TV right now, but so far it's just a bunch of talking from Mayock and a bunch of drills scattered around the field.
The 1v1 WR's vs DB drill the Corners are holding/pass interfering sooooo much, and the QB's are sucking it up on the deep throws. Goodwin, the Olympian from Texas is incredibly fast. He is getting yards of separation on each route.

Tuesday and Wednesday are the days when the players will make a name for themselves here. I heard Mayock talking up that corner (Hoyer) from Oregon State. Charles Davis was also talking about his play making ability. Probably referring to the 7 interceptions that he had this year.
I like watching the lineman drills myself. I see where Ansah is playing for the South team but they were practicing over in Fairhope today. I'm not going all the way across the bay for that

They just said tomorrow the pads come off. What are they doing tomorrow to make a name for themselves?
Also, it's weird the University of Texas and Southern Cal/UCLA are part of the North team.
