Very hard to find. I stocked up about 2 weeks prior to sandy hook and I'm glad I did. Gunbroker has some auctions up but you'll pay 1-1/2 to 2 times higher than usual.

Or Cabellas... I picked up some FMJ rounds for 12 bucks per 50 rds a couple of weeks ago.

Why is there such a shortage of ammo? Is it that people are stocking up, or are they making/selling less in general?

I suspect most of this is the result of a "run" on ammo (plus, let's not forget that the fedgov has been buying tens of millions of rounds in the last few years.

I know the ranges have been full. It's hard to get a lane on some days. People are also buying guns at an increased rate. They want to test their new investments.

NRA classes are full, too. Class I attended this weekend had more than they could handle, and now they are booked until summer.

BJ pawn in Denham had boxes of HP and FMJ few days ago. Selling limited quantities tho.

Bought some .223 Remington but paid almost $1 per round. Usually about $.50 per round
