Phish fans need to feel that they are fans of the best band in the world. Admitting that WSP is their peer diminishes that in their eyes. So instead of listening to music for musics sake they have to go out of their way to shite on anyone close to Phish's level.

I've listened to their live shows plenty of times and I don't get "it". Now if you're telling me that I have to go to do drugs and watch the pretty lights to get "it" then fair enough

No I wouldn't because I would more than likely spend the day wanting to escape the smug cesspool of fans that flock to phish shows in droves

Yeah I get that sense as well. Many don't seem to be able to accept that other people can have different tastes other than their own. That's why I hate the "this band is better than that one" argument

ABB with Duane is top notch Southern Rock/ Jam Band.
I believe ABB, GD, WSP, Phish, and others should have high status because they all have been top notch at one point on their career.
