re: What happened to Corban Collins? (Posted on 1/20/13 at 3:12 pm to 3xlsugrad)
I just happened to find the game on cable here. He dove for a ball and looked like he hit his nose on a guys knee. Blood was pouring out. He couldn't get up and walk off the cournt. His knees were shakey. 3 LSU players picked him up, 2 on arms and 1 on the legs, and he was carried off. Blood was wiped up off the floor twice. He could have a broken nose with a lot of swelling. Probably can't breath out of it. Concussion is possible.

quote: The only mention of it in the papers is that he needed stitches and stayed behind in Athens. I have no idea why every arena doesn't have a wheel-able stretcher ready for times like those.
Thanks for the update. I believe all arenas have an ambulance on site for NCAA games. So there should have been a stretcher available. Perhaps they chose not to use it, so that they could observe his neurological state. Not uncommon with concussions. If there had been a neck or back injury then a stretcher would likely have been used.
