The Hornets need to increase their talent level, not redistribute it. The only good trades for the Hornets would be if a guy is getting dumped, they are getting paid to facilitate a trade, or they can trade their draft pick for a young vet that fits well. They just don't have enough assets to trade for a good player without it being a 1 step forward 2 steps back move.

I wouldn't bother responding to that guy. Seriously, there's not a lot going on upstairs with him.

How does filling up a hole at SF by creating another hole at SG help us at all?

I agree with you... We'd have to plan to draft a SG or develop Rivers...:shudder:

What about my post suggested I was saying anything about the NBA? Lol, I was simply responding to sir troll of hornets talk. The level of troll ness is pretty high then he tries to cover it up with showcasing his moderate-sub par knowledge of basketball and the NBA. But this thread is pretty bad as well.

I think his injury history is overblown, but he is an old 30 and giving up anything more than a player and our first would be too much. I don't see Monty giving up Rivers for anything, GV would leave us with a hole unless we made two deals, and Lopez is playing too well on a decent contract to give up.

Once again Tiger nails it.

Logical answer. Agree that you may be right, but I think that the only "young vets" really worth our pick aren't going to move, since the contracts post CBA are so cap-friendly. A pre-CBA contract like Granger's (or Rudy Gay's) is a cancer on a team like Indiana. For us, it could be an opportunity to get a quality player who is slightly (but not comically) overpaid. That's all I was saying.

But we still don't have the pieces to make the trade. I can't see any situation where we can make a trade to get a solid SF that isn't just a lateral trade because we'll leave ourselves in the same situation just at a different position. If we had a better backup for Vazquez or Lopez I'd be more willing to send one of them in a trade, but sending them away just leaves us with no PG or C, so having a SF does nothing for us. Might as well wait it out and see what happens in FA and the draft

Yeah, the cap space we have next year is valuable for trades with teams trying to clear space without taking salary back. No reason to make a trade for a guy like Granger this season.

Not opposed to this. We would have to overpay him comically, though.

That team is no better than what we have now. In fact, you made out bench even worse.

I don't mind Davis at the 5, but he's to versatile to play C all the time. He's better as a PF and that is where he should get most of his minutes. Plus, I'm really starting to like Lopez
