You have to include Jimmy Taylor somewhere in the top five.

Fed Miller and Roy 'Moonie" Winston also have to be in the discussion.

I also would swap James and Brooks.
It wasn't clear in the OP about strictly college player, or O/A, but James has had much better pro numbers than Brooks. And I really like Brooks, he was playing when I was at LSU. Henry Thomas was no slouch on the line either. Damn, LSU had some monsters on defense in the 80's, just not the depth they have today.

Cannon Casanova Peterson Faneca Kevin Faulk A little biased toward more recent times since that's what I grew up watching Really guessing on Cannon and Casanova based on what other people have told me

Based on only their time at LSU: Doc Fenton Billy Cannon Gaynell Tinsley Tommy Casanova Glen Dorsey second 5: Patrick Peterson Josh Reed LaRon Landry (should have been a 3 time AA) Charles Alexander DeWayne Bowe (still underrated) Those that most people will question they are not on the list? Y.A. Tittle most of his stats at LSU come from the 4 Tulane games. Steve Van Buren was a blocking back until his Sr year. Jerry Stovall the stats are just not there to place him in the top 5 in anyway. Bert Jones it is not until the middle of his Jr year the light comes on and he becomes the QB many remember. Jimmy Taylor the best player I left out of the my top 10, and anyone with him on their list has a good pick. Top 5 canidates that most did not see play posting here: Ken Kavanaugh very tall wr/end for his time and held the TD record by a wr for years at LSU. He was fast for his time and could play today. Alvin Dark was one of the best athletes to play at LSU, and I had many tell me he would have been one of the greats all time, WWII cut his time at LSU. Alvin joined the Marines and was sent to ULL for officer training. John Seip 1908 end at LSU, played the season with a bad shoulder and still caught many passes form Doc using his only good arm to catch the ball with. Abe Mickal QB injuries reduced his playing time to the second team by his Jr year, in 1933 his So year he may have been the best QB in the nation. Tommy Davis Kicker if he stayed for the 1959 season LSU would have likely won back to back national championships.

Wasn't he the only back to lead the NFL in rushing other than Jim Brown while Jim Brown was in the league?

Faulk has to be in the top 5. Perhaps over Dorsey or Tynsley.

I always thought it would be interesting to vote on All-Time LSU teams from the following 4 time spans: 1893-1925 1926-1950 1951-1975 1976-2000
