Certainly the ones paying attention. It's sickening to see all this BS about this kid that sprouted up when it appeared more and more likely he wasn't coming to LSU (cough, cough, Mike S. cough, cough). Yet several posters that have kids on the team with Tim debunked the wild rumors repeatedly. Quit stomping on the sour grapes. I hate that he went to play for the midget and wish we had been able to sign him.

Definitely. It's like he had some kind of axe to grind against the kid. I don't really get why though. I also don't understand why LSU fans feel the need to denigrate the kid. He tried to commit before he took the trip to Bama. If his commitment would have been accepted, he never would have taken that trip. And no, I don't have a link for that, because I can't link a phone call.

Projectp speaks the truth. If we wanted Williams then he'd be committed to us. He tried and we denied. It's that simple and anything further discussed is unnecessary. Just wish the kid luck and move on without any bashing of the young man. I'm sure many of us made some mistakes when we were his age. I know I did.

Now, I will say this - LSU's head coach and QB coach had children who were teammates of Tim Williams - if he didn't hold a commitable offer before his trip to Bama, with all of the kids we knew were going to the NFL early, what does that tell you? Not sour grapes, but something developed during this recruitment. It is probably better that we don't know all the ins and outs. Still would have liked to have him, but, like I always say this time of year - you don't win or lose because of the kids you don't get - you win or lose because of the kids you do get.

Honestly, IN MY OPINION, it was a matter of timing and fit. He had a committable offer for a very long time and never took it, but we kept adding DEs to the point that he was no longer a necessity. That's the timing part. The fit part only comes in if he was dead set on playing LB, which he may or may not have been.

If this is true then he was supposed to commit to Bama! and this is what makes this thread sickening...some A-hole is trying to justify LSU's mistake...this is just plain stupid

I remember listening to Condon 12 years ago. It's a sad commentary on BR listeners that he's still on air.

Can you explain what you mean here? I don't understand what you're trying to say. (seriously, not trying to provoke an argument, looking for clarification)

So, if I'm reading this thread right, kid caught doing drugs at school, has a child to support (yeah, right! LOL), and another on the way (he'll support that one, too), and the staff passed on him? Big loss here, no doubt. It's not like the team has suspension problems with its athletes due to drugs or anything. They should have accepted this "kid" with open arms. Sounds like he was one year away from flying combat missions ala Tom Landry.

Whether what RC says is true or not, I do not know. Alot has been said, and I think it's peope like RC and those who pass on the rumors/facts..... Personally, I think TW should go wherever he may, my granny was French, she said: "Va ou tu veux and meurt out tu doit!" Go where you want and die where you must! R. Condon is a worn out ole shock jock, he has little to add and never really added much! I hearken back to his radio, all eyez on me, meltdowns...disgraceful and scornful...he need not cast stones

Explained: If Tim Williams attempted to commit to LSU and was turned down then he subsequently received a committable offer from Bama there is no question where his loyalty should lie and he was right to accepted the Scholly offer...now this Condon person and all these naysayers attempt to justify LSU's decision by belittling this kid! These people are sick!

You and I have a different interpretation of child. I don't know of anyone who uses Condon as a reference, and I'm not sure why anyone who calls themself a fan of LSU would be concerned about this recruitment. There's plenty of constructive criticism to be had, but I fail to see where any of it applies in the case of Tim Williams.

Condon is not pro-LSU by any means right? I would think his loyalty would be more swayed towards Bama, if anything. I mean he lives and works in B'ham, no?

I think you're confusing Condon and Finebaum. Condon is the drunk that tried to pick a fight with Jamie Howard. He's been on Baton Rouge radio for a while, but hasn't been good at being on radio in a while.

When he had Larry to keep him in check, and he only started drinking during the last hour of the show, he was pretty entertaining. More recently, just unlistenable - sounds drunk from the start and it gets worse. He starts to ramble, quickly, and everything sort of jumbles together - and I probably haven't listened to him in a couple of years.
