Neither were an issue but the MSM allowed it to become the narrative.
This has been going on long before the last election.
Clinton's 'worst economy in 50 years' was just as bad. The country had already recovered from one of the most mild recessions in history - especially since it came after the unprecedented growth of the prior decade. Yet the narrative was 'worst economy in 50 years.'
That election is what really soured me on the DEM party and the MSM.
They transformed the 'read my lips' meme into full blown propaganda with the advocacy of the MSM.
Anyone with a brain would know that, beyond the exploitation of the campaign slogan,' the entire DEM rallying cry was absolute bull shite.
Bush had COMPROMISED with the DEMs in congress. The DEMs had promised spending cuts in exchange for the tax increase. And of course they lied - as they always do.
Yet the MSM allowed the DEMs to run against Bush for AGREEING WITH THEM without ever even questioning the idiocy of the issue. They ignored the rebounding economy. They sucked BillyJeff's cock they entire process.
I think that Bush 41 really gave up. He was far too much of a gentleman to engage in the mud-rassling the DEMs use.
