The hole in Teo's story is the female hoaxer. Yes we know Ronaiah is nuts, has done this before and I suppose we can even imagine him doing this for four years (maybe Lennah is his alter ego?), but whoever the woman was who played Lennah is in this as deep or deeper than Ronaiah. She's the one who supposedly did the fake ventilator breathing, she's the one who spent over night on the phone with him, she would have had to know everything Ronaiah ever tweeted or wrote Teo so their story could stay consistent.
But who is the woman? Teo doesn't seem to care. This woman fesses up to him about an elaborate drug dealer death hoax, the says there is no Lennay but then says there isn't, as if she's some Cyreno Debergerack (have no idea the spelling). Espn doesn't even seem to care. They know Ronaiah was in on it so that's it. End of story.
Why isn't Teo interested in knowing who the hell this woman is? She's the one who made him fall in love with him. Not Ronaiah. She's the one who spent those hours and hours on the with him for at least a year. What's her angle?
IMO he's still lying to cover up his gross exaggeration of this "relationship". There were no overnight calls and ventilator sounds on the phone any more than they met in Hawaii. If he would lie about the meeting in Hawaii to make himself sound like less of an idiot, he'd lie about this.
Also he lies when he said he doesn't know where the reporter got the idea the two met at the Stanford game. and what about saying she was the most beautiful person he's ever met on national tv? And no, he never explained why twice in the 3 days following the Dec call he kept he ruse up. Even if he says he was confused etc, he knew something was up yet continued soliciting sympathy.
And finally, the fact that he says "bro" over and over and over in that interview makes me hate him I don't care even if this turns out he was a complete victim.

We're never going to get the whole story because the people that should be investigating it are too tied up with the people that have a stake in covering it up.
Ideally, what should have happened is that Deadspin publishes the story and the real journalists take over and do real investigating. Instead, Deadspin publishes the story, and everyone goes into crazy "protect Notre Dame" mode. Forde, Mandel, ESPN, they are all complicit in this now.

This is the part that's been really nauseating. He told lie after lie to gain publicity, and evidently, it is deemed acceptable because he's a Golden Domer.

If Two really wanted to clear his name its very simple. Show everyone the picture that he said he made "the real fake Lennay" send him time stamped by some landmark back in December when she escaped the drug lords. That should shed some light on who she is. And release all of your phone records Manti.

Deadspin made a good point. Teo said he wasn't completely convinced this was a hoax until the article came out. But ND had completed the investigation before then
Lennah was in Miami taking pictures in front of the hotel. Why? By then ND's investigators were on the case calling all the numbers and tracking these people down. Teo didn't tell the private I that these people are here?
Also deadspin makes a good point re Ronaiah's deleted twitter account. He couldn't send a DM apology last week to Teo because his acct is deleted and any new acct would require Teo to follow him.

I haven't read any more on Deadspin after the initial article, but I'm sure they're still calling out the inconsistencies. The only main stream media people doing that, that I've heard, are Petros & Money, at least as far as their Thursday show. Haven't heard the Friday one yet.
The Solid Verbal podcast was pretty rough on Teo the other day, and one of the hosts is a ND fan. Anxious to hear if his tune changed for their show this evening.
There just doesn't seem to be enough people in the MSM questioning things. I was happy when someone said US Weekly was getting involved. Not that they have much credibility, but at least they aren't tethered to Notre Dame. They just want to report on scandal.
