It's always amazed me how urban Democrats are always trying to get rural-state Democrats to commit political suicide on the gun issue. They're the political equivalent of chickenhawks, never willing to walk the gang plank whenever they need to take a tough vote, but perfectly willing to pressure blue-dog Democrats to walk the gang plank. The Democrats didn't orchestrate Sandy Hook, but they are overreacting to it. Obama carried Oregon in both 2008 and 2012 but even their state legislature is fighting back against any proposed gun legislation. Bill Maher said it best Friday night, nothing will get through Congress because ultimately, there are too many Democrats who love their guns just as much as Republicans.

A blind ideologue wouldn't have expanded gun rights to allow concealed weapons in national parks and on Amtrak in his first term. I think all Obama is doing now is trying to show the anti-gun folks in his party that he gave it the old college try, but he knows that nothing significant will get through Congress. However, he needs to tell Joe Biden to keep his mouth shut, because this talk of executive orders needlessly inflamed passions for no good reason.

You need to get your facts straight. Biden is the one who mentioned the possible use of an executive order, not Obama. Also, come liberal New Yorkers like Michael Bloomberg and Carolyn McCarthy having been pushing Obama to use an executive order.

So, Biden is the brains and sets the policy impetus up there. 
One big farsical propaganda mind game being pushed as a legitimate political dialogue. The real issue is pretty simple. A handful of population centers elected Obama to do what is in effect SEIZE the real assest of them that have it and "spread it around" to them that don't. And that could surely be accomplished by simply stacking the Supreme Court, 'reinterpreting' the Constitution, and jack-boot thuging all those less populated Red areas into acquiescing to the *law*.
And the only wrench in the cogs of that machine is GUNS. The Socialist Dems know this, and they know that without those guns, it DON'T MATTER what laws their mob rule majority passes.

Maybe you didn't; but you certainly didn't think it out. Didn't Obama jump right in there BEHIND Biden on embracing EO's? Behind, really!  Yeahhh! Biden is Obama's useful idiot; they use him to float the trial balloons. Tell me you really don't think that it's Obama that will do the real pushing. Czars, Bureaucratic mandates, EOs, whatever it takes. We know it, that's the reason for gunning up...because the Red States AINT gonna lay down to soft tyranny. Period.

If you notice Clinton and Gingrich are the main 2 who are making sense right now, who woulda thought? I truly believe the Dems and Reps are starting to listen. It's a small start that will hopefully bring both sides together.
