fiscal cliff bill...long term care related

Sorry this isn't about gun control, but I read the bill passed for the "fiscal cliff" and it included a provision stating a committee was being formed to analyze and FUND long term care. This is going to be a huge expense. Any idea how we pay for it?

No way that pays for it. Ltc may be as big as health insurance.

To me, the VAT seems like an infinite source.

Although, I suppose our government doesn't need to actually pay for a program to pass it.

1) Somehow limit the amount Medicaid is willing to pay the LTC facility.
2)The look back period has gone from 3 to 5 years. Might increase that to 7 or 8.
3) If Obamacare can care require a person to have insurance, why not require LTC insurance when you get a certain age? It would probably just be a cost-shift, as the government would probably end up subsidizing it,but it might be worth a shot.
4) There could probably be something be done to varying levels of care that are needed to reduce costs but it would be require a fairly large facility to be able to do mush with that.
