It isn't stupid. They know and understand what the 2nd amendment is about. They are playing a deceitful game by always associating guns with deer, or guns with sporting clays. It is a means to achieve their goal, and it will be successful.
Hell most gun lobbies have completely given up on the right to own an "assault rifle" because of this tactic.

True - they know exactly what the 2nd amendment is all about.
That is why they hate is so much. Same with 1st amendment.
These wild-eyed leftists want the constitution itself eliminated. They want total control with no opposition. Anything that give support to potential opposition must be destroyed.
Breaking up the family as the core of society was their first great success. The attack on religion is aimed at destroying any semblance of moral authority. Education has been watered down and converted into a support system for the below average intellects.
Taking arms from loyal citizens is just another ploy in establishing an authority with no potential opposition.

I know. I am of the mind that a rifle is a rifle and the user determines the purpose of the rifle. To me this follows the line of thinking that individuals are responsible for their own actions.
