I'm over 250 miles on my Brooks Pro Cadences. Things feel fine but I've heard that around 300-350 miles you should get new ones. How often do y'all change yours?

I replace around 300, but I start rotating the new ones in around 250.

whenever they are no longer comfortable
I have close to 600 miles on my current Newtons.
Probably 1,000 miles on my VFF Bikilas.

What salmon said. In my big running days I would keep a pair of shoes until they wore out. I also went barefoot a decent amount and had relatively tough feet and legs, so that's worth taking into account.

quit telling people that, you need to replace around 300 miles or your asking for injury. we get your an extreme runner, but for the regular runner they don't need to keep shoes for 600 miles, they break down.

I miss running.  I just don't get the same burn from cycling.
But my strategy with shoes was to have 3-5 pairs that I rotated through during a week's running. My shoes lasted basically forever that way.
Now of course, my "cycling shoes"...which can include anything even sandals... really do last forever.
Still miss running, but at least on a bike, I can get home faster if I need to, and I even run a few errands while I'm out.
Trying to find the silver lining here.

whether that comes at 250 miles or 600 is dependent on the runner
I'm not going to replace my shoes at 250 just because the running shop tell me too
it is quite funny how they keep lowering the mileage every year as well

longhorn I personally wear Brooks Glycerine. Love them.
I just asked the chiropractor ... said around 300 or so BUT I'm not a big person at all and can perhaps get a little more. He said you can usually feel a difference when you put your new ones on. Shin splints/lower leg pain is a good sign if you're close to the 300 or so.

that's fine but this guy is obviously not an experienced runner to know when he can feel it in his legs
to the op 300 miles and your good. if you go more the shoe starts breaking down and can throw your form off.

I wear Brooks Addictions. Dude at the Afleet's Foots says 500 miles or six months, whichever comes first.

so if he doesn't put many miles in, he should just replace them in six months, sounds legit

FTR, the pair I just replaced were 18 months old and I'd worn the soles bald.
