He doesnt have weekend stuff. I think its pretty evident.
It's not evident at all. Nobody has any idea what he'll pitch like next March through June when it counts.
All we know is that he was the ace of a staff in 2011
that included Gausman, and that he had a sophomore slump in 2012
when he fell out of favor.
And he didn't do completely terrible. Granted, he was pitching against much worse competition, but his stats were roughly comparable to those of Eades, except that Eades could get his way out of more jams with strikeouts than McCune could. Pitcher, ERA, IP, H, BB, K, HR, Opp. Avg.
Eades, 3.83, 94.0, 107, 28, 63, 8, .296
McCune, 4.04, 42.3, 42, 14, 24, 2, .266
Unless there is something physically wrong with his arm, I don't see what makes another 2011 type of season so unlikely.
