Yes Fragile = Greatness

Music in 1971 that was so far ahead of its time. The complexity of what these guys were doing is still mind boggling some 40 years later. What a collection of REAL musicians........

I just read "The Fragile = Greatness", but it's a pretty good double record FWIW.

One of my favorite classic rock albums. Close to the Edge was also a classic.

My bro, quite the guitar player, would play "Mood for a Day" from Fragile a lot back in the day. Recently I asked him if he could still play it--he picked up the guitar and kicked it out.

Steve Howe--Mood for a Day

Fantastic!! These guys were all unbelievable musicians. I was lucky enough to see them live a couple times in their prime.

They churned out The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close To The Edge in like a year and a half. Amazing.

BTW, their current tour is to play TYA, Close To The Edge, and Going For The One in their entirety.

Very big album. That was an all star lineup as well.

REALLY weird.

However, I loved the way Bob played guitar. The guy was like an primary idiot savant.

They used to never perform that song live. Well, Live At Montreux 2003 FTW:

There's some great interplay between Wakeman and Steve at the end. I've got the Bluray, and the whole thing's great. See also Steve's fingerstyle adaption of "To Be Over":
