Sounds like Tuiasosopo is about to get undressed publicly as a scam artist/pathological liar who was desperate to get notoriety. Teo was naive, but it's sounding more like he was conned and then too embarrassed to publicly admit he was conned.

where does brian teo fit in in all of this? supposedly was texted by the fake g/f about the actual death, wanted to get to know his potential daughter in law. is he in on it? did manti troll his dad, too? did they both get trolled by ronaiah?
my personal belief is manti is gay. maybe with ronaiah. it started with a story about having a g/f, a nice cover for not running arse all over campus as the star player. it snow balls out of hand and it gets to a point where they cant stop it.
that would explain everything except why kill her off? why not just have a break up from your long distance g/f who lives across the country? why have her die of cancer? so she wont be around for anyone else to talk to to confirm she never dated te'o?

Everyone is missing the obvious reason why Teo was targeted by this scam artist, along with several other Polynesian / Samoan players, many of whom are also Mormons and willing to help in any way they can.
The scam artist wants money, usually to pay for "medical bills" from a recent car accident or surprising, unexpected diagnosis (lupus, leukemia) or other misfortune. This is the unspoken, implied loss, that one is obviously reluctant to admit. The player from the Cardinals seemed to imply he gave 'her' money.
The Samoan / Polynesian angle is interesting too, similar to the cultural affinity or manipulation in the Madoff scandal, playing on Jews' cultural affinity for working with a Jewish money manager who supported Jewish charities.

There definitely is something to the Samoan thing, especially since the Samoan/Polynesian Arizona Cardinals FB (Reagan Mauia) was introduced to Te'o's fake GF before she was even his GF.
Maybe Tuiasosopo tested the waters with Reagan first, then moved to Te'o... just looking for the most gullible guy he could spin the Lennay Kekua web with.

I'm not sure if I buy the whole ghey angle... I get that it's a popular take on story, but I'm not convinced bc it's based on psychological theory.
From loose accounts of ND students/fans etc he would go to parties with ND or St. Mary's chicks and smash.
I'm not ruling out that he's got teh ghey, but I just don't see it.
