Currently we have no system to dissuade contagious people from contaminating every public area they willfully expose their sicknesses to without concern for the safety or well-being of other citizens.
Pnemonia and the flu kills about 100 thousand people each year in the US...the 7th leading cause of Death
Officer can be outfitted with an infrared laser thermometer, and given probable cause can take the suspects temperature, and if the reading is over a certain temperature, the officer can take a swab of the suspects cheek, and submit it for analysis.
Once proven to having been contagious and in a public area, the person is mailed a Sick Ticket where the will have to pay a fine for their act of bio-terrorism.
It's a win/win...people will avoid public areas which will decrease rates of illness and deaths, and the inconsiderate are punished.
Why would you oppose this? It's just giving a cop a thermometer and a Q-tip.

I'm more concerned about the people who run out and overmedicate on antibiotics every time they get the sniffles or the squirts, increasing resistance to antibiotics and killing many people.
Obamacare's gonna be a bitch for the hypochondriacs who can't run down to the doctor at will.

Flu spreads mostly by personal action anyway.
You can live in very close proximity with someone with the flu and only get a mild case (if any at all) if you just follow standard hygiene.
How many of you frickers even wash your hands before eating?

Stop the flu from spreading like that, and you'll start a global pandemic.
And shite like this is why I dislike liberals.
They impose government regulations to help us all with the best intentions.
And end up fricking us all over.

We had a woman show up to work sick about 3 weeks ago. As of today all but 3 people in our office are sick because of it. I advised them to just shut the place down for tommorow and clean the place up real good. Of course they did not go for it, and will have us together passing it around untill they decide to do it. Its obviously not a one time thing since she came down with it again today.

Well, but all but 3 of you have already been infected, it doesn't really matter anymore....
Not like shutting down for a day and "cleaning the place real good" would help.

Just get into the habit of sanitizing your work space frequently when they are there. I do it a lot since I manage a restaurant and deal with a ridiculous amount of germs.

I would agree, but the witch came in today and evidently she has it again. So i don't know if its a one time thing or one of these that will just keep getting passed around untill something is done.

Flu spreads mostly when YOU rub your face/eat food with your hands.
It's not like the room is a flu bubble that anyone breathing the air would get sick

It is never accurate but it is a very small price to pay for it's effectiveness in most cases. I'm glad I got over my stubbornness and started getting it. I still get a sniffle every now and then but never full blown flu.
