If Kelly can persuade Grantham to be his DC in Philly, any concern GA takes a swing at luring Chavis away from BR?

If Kelly was Smart he'd pursue Chavis over Grantham

Oh snap!!! But seriously, the Eagles could do much better than Grantham. He's in the upper half of DC's in the SEC (in my opinion) but he's not top 3. He was DC of the Browns for 2 years, but if they really want to make the Chip Kelly experiment work they need a homerun hire at DC...Grantham ain't it. IF Grantham is gone, UGA could promote from within (which has been a MO of Richt) and promote Olivadotti while trying to hire an OLB coach. If they go with an outside hire, I'd say look out for a DC from a non-AQ school.

Doubtful. A lot of rumors that he and Richt didn't see eye to eye during his time here and now he's kind of seen as "damaged goods". He was terrible at Ga Southern, he stayed at USCe for 10 days, he left the Falcons before they could fire him, and then his defense at Auburn was miserable. Don't see him returning to Athens anytime soon. We might make another run at Bud Foster...Beamer's stock is falling in Blacksburg and Foster might want to hedge his bets.

If Grantham leaves then I don't think Richt is really married to the 3-4, I think he'll get the guy the that he feels is the best regardless of what system he runs.

Actually more of a 4-2-5/ 4-3 hybrid. Very similar to what South Carolina runs.

I think we'd promote Coach O at least for this year and then look around.
