Looking forward to this in a little over a week. Anyone else been here to share some must do's?

I hate Breck. Telluride and Steamboat are good. I want to check out Monarch soon.

Beautiful place, but brutal altitude.

My favorite purely for skiing is Telluride, and favorite for overall 'take a ski trip somewhere fun' is Steamboat.

Man, don't ruin it for me. I'm going to Breckenridge for the first time in March. How does it rate to South Tahoe(Heavenly)?

Breck is better than Heavenly and it's not even a question. Heavenly has a nice view of the lake, that's it, and is filled with a-holes (at least on my one trip there). Breck by a mile, and in March you'll love it.

re: Colorado Ski Resorts

My local mountain did $15 lift tickets last Friday. Powder day too. My bud and me got first run on 2 blacks and one hard blue. Like skiing on air.
That pow makes you look like a pro. I dropped down to the lodge on a black and came off about a 6 foot tall rock halfway down. Man that is an amazing feeling.

Vail is the best because you have so much variety. The lift tickets are a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. It's the largest ski resort out there.

Vail has it all - frontside skiing, cornice skiing, bowl skiing, anything you want Vail has it at all difficulties. Heck I skied there for 3 days and wasn't even able cover half of the trails. I spent the first day on the front side, the second day in the back bowls, and the third day doing a bit of both.

I love Vail

I have not been to Telluride but my wife's boss has a place there. He loves it and can't speak highly enough about it. It is one of the next places on list to go.

Cb is much more low key then Breck but to me that's a great thing. The sking is much better. By low key I mean not as busy and not as many visitors. Quaint is a good description. In breck every restaurant and bar is slammed pack every night. Not so much in cb unless you are there during spring break. All this to me makes it better. The restaurants are very good with a good selection. Don't worry you will have fun especially if your there over a weekend when all the locals go out.

Exactly. You want to be where the locals are. Screw those places like Breck. Further away from Denver the better.

My favorite ski trip was to Steamboat. We got almost a foot of fresh powder a day. I don't know if they actually get alot more snow there or if that was an aberration but it was awesome.

Vail is #1....the back bowls and Blue Ox when groomed is unreal. Crested Butte is small and friggin freezing...No like at all.

Hey Redstick I have feeling we would get along just fine.

I always cruise a ski town I have never been to and find the cheapest beer deals. Hang out there for a while start talking to locals and you will have a great night.
