I believe the hornets got a legit chance at making the playoffs still. If we win 30 out of last 42 games, that would put us at a 43-38 record which will likely put us in the playoffs. Thoughts?

43 wins usually doesnt cut it in the Western Conference.

That's a 71% winning percentage from now on. In last 7 games, we are at a 86% winning percentage.

7 games is far less than 42 games. If we keep it up, I'd be ecstatic. But that is a very slim chance.

But there is usually more parity in the West at the top and less at the bottom. The teams at the top(OKC, SA, LAC) are hogging all the wins and there aren't any bad teams at the bottom with tons of losses. I think 43 games will cut it this year, especially if Utah gets rid of Milsap.
Also, you are leaving out a game. There are 82 games, no?

I think they make a strong push barring injuries. I do not think they get the 8th. Team will be clicking going into next year though which is good.
