not really trophies, but it's a hunt i'll never forget. that's my little cousin with me and the two of us have been a handful of times together but neither of us have managed to get a clean shot. we had 5 come in a little after 5. i gut shot a big doe and the bullet exited and broke the legs of the button buck behind it. he put it out of its misery.
side note: we were supposed to shoot simultaneously, but he hesitated. had i known he wasn't going to shoot, i would have let him shoot first and i would have cleaned up whatever was left.

The was the slowest year of deer hunting for me in 20 years. But it was one of the best. I rarely got to hunt by myself, but my little boy ended up killing his 1st deer, the bruiser 6 pt below. Then he missed 2 does and bloodied one up. Finally he was able to connect again on a doe that came out while we we're in the shop having a beer (me), cooking and watching foozeball.
I whacked a few does with my bow early and killed this 8pt in a rare hunt I got to make by myself.
Between this and killing a shitton of ducks 2012-13 was a helluva year
