Good news guys. Only 14 years left on our awful TV contract. We'll have a new one in no time.

Nope. Sadly, Manti Te'o didn't come up with our TV contract. It is iron clad.

I'm sure there is an early termination penalty, but it will be expensive.

Everytime I see this thread bumped, I get false hope that something happened with J-Up.

EOF and the Braves avoided arbitration. Do we try and sign anyone else or let it ride?

New tv deal > Higher payroll > better team > more TV viewers. The Braves/TW would basically have to agree on the above and I just don't see anyway that happens. Especially since the Braves have been relatively successful with their current payroll.

Good article on the Braves future payroll from CAC: Braves Payroll 2015 looks a little tight with JUP included.

This tidbit was in the article I just linked as well. I wasn't aware of it.
quote:
This is where the new TV deals with ESPN and FOX come in. While the regional Braves deal won’t be much help, the new league-wide deals should add $20-25M (over the past deals) in each team revenues starting in 2014, but how much can or will go into the team payroll is unknown.

I don't think this will help the Braves, it will just bump everyone's payroll and continue the overpaying of certain players. Basically, the league average payroll will increase thus doing nothing for the Braves.

Not terrible numbers from any of them. All were about as expected.
