I was beyond pumped for this movie. I haven't seen it, but the reviews make it sounds terrible.
Hate when this happens! Gosling had been pretty consistent in his movie selections lately. Fvck.

I liked it even though Penn reminded me of a Dick Tracy character. A lot of smart lines too. Also, was the scene with the dame singing the one that replaced the movie shooting scene?

It probably got that rating due to RG's annoying voice. I can't stand to here him talk. I now know why he wasn't given that many lines in Drive.

So did anyone see it? Critics are murdering it, but the audience rating is like 70%. What're the critics hating and the regular folk liking?
Also, what's this movie shooting people are talking about? They cut some scene because of PC? Will it be included in Director's Cut? TIA!

The original trailers for the film showed a snippet of a handful of guys shooting up a movie theater crowd from behind the screen. The scene was removed from both the trailers and movie itself following the Aurora, CO shooting.

I saw it yesterday. I liked it, but I went in with low expectations. It is what it is - a shoot-em-up mob movie, nothing more, nothing less.
The best thing I can say for it is that it was entertaining, and I didn't think it was at all cheesy or anything.

Saw it yesterday, was not impressed. Acting and lines were horrible, no character development. Even the action scenes felt like they were trying way too hard
