I can't shoot any pistol better than the Sig P series. I love the fit and finish on H&Ks but have never owned one. While there are valid reasons H&K runs behind Glock and Sig, as far as following, I believe they are more cost, weight, sometimes confusing configurations (I'm looking at you USP), etc., rather than quality of the pistols or shooting experiences. ETA: The P30 is getting good reviews on here, as I expected.
You cannot go wrong, in my opinion, with either choice, nor would you be unhappy with a G17 - I'm considering buying a G17 or P226 in the near future, myself.

Since there are a few Sig guys in this thread I thought I'd ask. Anybody have an experiences with the Sig 2022? The little bit I've read on the internet seems positive.

Ok OB I held the HK and loved it but they only had a .40 in stock and I want a 9mm so that if the wife needs to shoot it she can.
Can I ask a huge favor from you all that if you happen to run across a HK p30 in 9mm that you let me know.
Thanks for all of your help. I live in NOLA but would be willing to travel a Max of 2-3 hours to buy if necessary.

I'm about to buy a P2000, which doesn't look as ergonomic as the P30 but it doesn't seem horrible either.

I have both the 226 and the 2022. Both outstanding pistols. I just have to replace the plastic guide rod in my 2022 with a steel one.

I own both and love both.
The p2000 is definitely a better carry gun though for me.
The p30 on BS is a LEM model so just look check it out before buying. Many prefer the LEM since it is closer to the SA triggers of striker guns but others prefer the DA/SA configuration.

Just curious as to what confusing configurations you're talking about?
And Glock isn't in the same category as Sig and Glock. And lastly my USP .45 weighs pretty much the same as my Sig P226 9mm

When I turn 21 and can CC, I will get a P2000 and an HK45CT and sell the P30

Go with HK. I have the P30 9mm and .40 along with HK 45. Best guns I have ever owned. $1000 is about going price new.
