My honey hole is now a duck pond

After all the rain my honey hole is now about 6 feet underwater . Makes me sick the bucks are chasing and I can't even hunt

I used to hunt a bottom that drained A LOT of property when it rained. It would go up just like that and sometimes not come down until late spring.

Some years though it wouldn't even flood more than a day or 2 after a rain then go right back down.

Regardless the deer were always hanging around... you'd see them swimming it on the regular.

Obviously you need to hunt the ridges if you have any on your property. Almost to easy when the deer get on the ridges during a flood .

I used to love deer hunting my old place after a bit of flooding. Find the high ground nearest the honey hole and youll find the deer.

this..

As long as its not 4 feet deep you will be fine.. Deer dont care about getting their feet wet.

It's about 6 ft deep across the bottom . The top of the ridge on the other side is the property line that's my issue . That bottom is usually a natural funnel for the deer .

Thats crazy must have been a lot of rain up there.. I would hunt the higher ground in that case but still set up so you can see down in the natural funnel just in case..

I saw a 7 point cross an 8 foot deep section of one of our creeks the other week, they arent bad at swimming, but i assume they can just go around your pond. They have no choice but to cross the creek down here.
