LINK / BATON ROUGE — LSU coach Les Miles did not suddenly become a mean guy for whom no one wants to play. Instead, a perfect storm of talented third- and fourth-year juniors and the new collective bargaining agreement in the NFL led to a LSU-record 10 underclassmen on the 2012 team entering the 2013 NFL draft over the past two weeks. It may be a record for any school in a single season.

It does suck but you have to understand that most recruits go to LSU so they can be drafted one day in the NFL. These players that are leaving are good enough for the NFL and most of them know they will be drafted in the top 2 rounds so why not do it...?

I think we all have to remind ourselves that while we are passionate about our football, it's really about the kids and their having a career. Whether that be in football or in their college degree.

We had a lot of sophomores during the 2011 season, didn't hurt us too badly.

After watching LSU alum Hester and Holiday last night. I can now look forward with the NFL drafting these players to even more Tigers to watch and cheer for on Sundays. I got no malice for a guy leaving college for his working profession which is what these men came here to do in the first place. Good news is we get to reload and watch a new crop of players make it big.

Yes, there will be some growing pains. I would use the high number of early draft entries as a big recruiting plus. It is fun to watch the new guys hoping another special player like TM7 will emerge. The best part of the current LSU football era is that we have a legitimate chance of winning every game we play. Geaux Tigers.

I believe this is refreshing the roster also! Most leaving had bad taste after ncg and shepard not seeing field much. Young guys seem to be building actual friendships with everyone instead of having clicks. Could be better for team!

HS kids and JRs are four years apart in terms of strength, system, intelligence, and maturity. You guys don't really expect true freshmen to pick up where our Would be SRs left off do you? This isn't college basketball.

No, but this is the rant... Its all sunshine here. This is the same board that made Met out to be a savior before anyone had seen him play while at the same time insisting that the loss of a heisman candidate wouldnt affect us

A lot of these kids had been at LSU long enough to leave, their ceilings were not going to get any higher, it was time. (Mingo, Montgomery, Ware, Ford, Simon, Reid and Taylor) with Minter, his timing is perfect with the kind of season he had, his stock is skyhigh right now. He comes back and has a bad season like a lot have had, and he can plummet. Only questionable one is Faulk, but I can understand him as well.
