working out is only 35% of the battle. Diet is 65%. Wanna bet she eats like a hog?

It's important that fat people know they can lose the weight. You don't want to beat up on them and make them feel like shit, but you don't want them to feel like it's out of their control either. Fat women saying they're proud of their fatness annoys the shite out of me. Can't stand it.

I know its mostly diet, and she may well eat out like a hog. But she is thick not fat. She wears a sports bra in the gym, and she doesn't have flab. And her shoulders/arms don't have the hang you see on fat chicks. She is just thick. I can look at her and tell she is working out to get thin, its not going to happen.

While vacationing in Colorado, I was watching the news and they quoted some ridiculous number about fat adults, (3 of 5 maybe) I only saw three or four the whole time. Compared to Louisiana with a turn of the head you see a fat person.

Gyms are for working out. You want to talk, go to a bar.
True when it comes to lifting. But when you want to walk on a treadmill for an hour it really goes by faster with someone to talk to.

As a libertarian I have no problem with a gym restricting its membership to only fat people. But what if the opposite happened? What if a gym said we won't allow fat members? Perhaps the obese shall become the next group protected by political correctness.
Private business should be able to do what it wants. You want just fat people? Go for it. You just want fit people? Go for it - if you want the negative public relations to deal with. Still, you should be able to do it.

Fat people definitely need to pay higher health insurance.
Almost all American health care $$$ issues could be fixed or at least brought down to more reasonable numbers if people cared for themselves. I'm not talking about everyone having a 6 pack and benching 225.. doing 30 mins of cardio 3-5 times a week can significantly decrease your chance or having major health issues when you hit your golden years. Also eating healthy is key.

gays stay in better shape and therefore aren't a distraction at the gym

Your thoughts?
My thoughts are that Americans are conditioned to think they need to have more on their plate than they really need to, and have a portion control problem, but it's not all just them, but everywhere you go to eat that has to overload your plate with absurd amounts of meat and carbs, with a wee little space for maybe some greens, and probably out of a can with not much in the line of nutritional value. But then, that's what people have said that they are looking for, so it rests with our society. Quantity trumps quality almost every single time. To compound this eating frenzy, we have a people who don't like going outside much, and certainly not to break a sweat, so he'll surprise, we have a bunch of very large and in charge people.

Yeah, someone would choose to live a lifestyle that would cause them to be the butt of your jokes.

I think the point is that sexual orientation is protected , yet it is a choice. If weight also becomes protected (as it is a choice as well) , watch out. You next meal at Hooters or Twin Peaks could get interesting.

I just read a funny report about a woman described as hefty. She fell through a portion of a sidewalk in NY, and was rescued from the hole with a "crane like device".

Cit, Lucy says that there are morbidly people in her hospital all the time. You see it on TV and think it's an oddity, but most people don't realize that it happens in every city every day. Just last week they had someone come into ER so fat that they had to use 6 men to lift her. And don't even make me retell the 'roach story'. I'll have nightmares again.

Many years ago a doctor (OB/GYN) carried a newborn into the nursery just delivered. He did so to get out of the delivery room so he could laugh. Obese mom spit out the kid like a watermelon seed, he was just lucky to catch it.
