The NRA tried to cut funding to direct promotion of gun control issues. The CDC provides grants to certain groups who do have a slant.

I'm not a liberal. I just don't think there is any justified civilian use for guns in modern society. I don't support taking your toys away sir just making it harder for stupid people to obtain them. However, when someone proposes doing that, this board and half the country goes into chaos.

Back to the topic. Why do we need more research when you don't use what we currently have. This is evidenced by the fact you are constantly lecturing people who if limited by law will have no impact on violent crime statistics. You should be in the poor communities begging them to turn in the illegal weapons.

The article was talking more about the funds that the NRA lobbied to cut, but when they were reinstated they could only be used for brain research instead of firearms. They have a quarter of the funding that they used to have. Don't you think it's interesting that the NRA lobbied to cut funding to the CDC because they were funding a study about whether having a gun in the house, rather than conferring protection, significantly increased the risk of homicide by a family member or intimate acquaintance
